Our Feed a School initiative enables you to sign up to provide nutritious, life-changing school meals to some of the world’s poorest children for an entire year.
When you pledge to cover the cost of daily meals for every child at a chosen school, you are positively impacting the lives of hundreds of vulnerable children – giving them the energy to participate in lessons and the opportunity to receive an education.
The promise of nutritious daily school meals allows the children to grow and prosper, helps their families to survive and thrive, and acts as a catalyst for the communities they live in to break the cycle of poverty.
Your experience with the Feed a School initiative
We welcome the commitment from you if you decide to Feed a School and will support you, answer any questions, and offer advice.
- Support we offer: Throughout the year we will provide regular updates from the feeding programme and encouraging feedback on your project, including fundraising tips to help you to reach your target and provide food for an entire school for a year.
- Celebrating your year of support: At the end of the year, you will receive an update on your project success with photos and quotes from the project. We will make sure you have the first option to feed the school for a following year; we look forward to having a long-term partnership with you and reaching the next child.

Countries where you can Feed a School
Malawi
Malawi is our largest programme – serving more than 1,125,000 children every school day – and is delivered by Mary’s Meals Malawi alongside our partners MCSPA and Tafika. Malawi is where our school feeding programme began, and where our first meals were served in 2003.
Zambia
We currently provide school meals to more than 530,000 children in over 1,000 schools in the Eastern Province of the country – delivered by Mary’s Meals Zambia. The programme is able to reach so many children because of tens of thousands of volunteers from local communities who give their time freely.
Our approach to feeding in schools
We continuously develop and refine our approach to reach as many children as possible in the most efficient, effective and sustainable way. Our unique model revolves around a partnership between schools, local communities and Mary’s Meals, ensuring each child safely receives the correct meal every school day and is respected and protected.
